How does FlowRead auto-classify my captures?
FlowRead uses AI (DeepSeek / OpenAI / Gemini) to analyze your captured content and automatically assigns it to the most relevant folder, generates 3–5 relevant tags, and creates a concise summary — all within seconds of capture.
What are the 4 ways to capture?
Text selection: Highlight any text on a web page, click the floating "+" button to save instantly.
Page clip: Right-click → "Clip Page" to save the full article as clean Markdown.
Image: Right-click any image → "Save Image" to archive it with context.
Link: Right-click a link → "Save Link" to capture the URL with its title and source page.
What are Research Topics?
Research Topics let you group related captures into a focused dashboard. Each topic has a research goal, core insights board, and a question checklist. AI can analyze all notes in a topic to generate cross-document insights, identify knowledge gaps, and produce a structured Markdown report.
How do folders and tags differ?
Folders are broad categories (e.g., "AI Research", "Recipes") — each capture belongs to exactly one folder. Tags are fine-grained labels (e.g., "#python", "#urgent") — a capture can have multiple tags. AI automatically assigns both, so you can browse by folder or filter by tag cloud.
Can I edit captures after saving?
Yes. Open any capture's detail panel to edit the title and full Markdown body. A built-in toolbar provides bold, italic, headings, lists, links, code blocks, and a live preview toggle. You can also pin, copy, or delete captures.
Is my data private and secure?
Yes. FlowRead stores all data on your own server or local filesystem. No third-party analytics, no tracking, no data selling. Your captures are yours alone.
What browsers are supported?
FlowRead works on Chrome, Edge, Brave, Opera, Arc (all Chromium-based browsers), Firefox (desktop & Android), and Safari (coming soon to the App Store).
Can I use FlowRead offline?
Yes. When you're offline, captures are queued locally in the extension. Once your connection is restored, they automatically sync to your server — no data lost.
How many captures can I make for free?
The free plan includes 50 captures per month with full AI classification, tagging, and summarization. Pro plans offer unlimited captures plus advanced research features.
Does FlowRead support multiple languages?
Yes. The extension UI is available in English, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, French, German, and Spanish. AI classification also works across these languages, so your captures are organized regardless of the source language.
